چکیده

Port-wine stain (PWS) is one of the representative cutaneous vascular malformations. Pulse dye laser (PDL) a traditional treatment method to treat PWS. A newly developed potassium-titanyl-phosphate (KTP) laser, DermaV, can be irradiated with single pulse, or pulse divided into several sub-pulses in length 0.3ms 1.5ms. This study aimed investigate skin response KTP and PDL according different durations wavelengths PWS lesions were five 1x1cm2 square territories, randomly treated by 5 methods: 1) no treatment, 2) (532nm) 3) sub-millisecond (1.5ms) 4) sub-microsecond (0.3ms) 5) (595nm). Three sessions done every 4 weeks, last follow-up was weeks after treatment. total 13 patients included, excluding dropouts. In evaluation efficacy, showed non-inferior efficacy profile PWL compared PDL. higher vessel density thicker vessels more likely respond treatments. After 3 treatments, thick decreased but thin increased. Between responders non-responders, responders. The decrement positively correlated response. better treating vessels. summary, treatments well clinical improvement. However, increased they could cause resistance. combination modes may possible alternative for resistant cases.

Port-wine stain laser treatments and novel approaches.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Port-wine stains (PWSs) are capillary vascular malformations that are commonly resistant to treatment. Currently, the pulsed dye laser (PDL) is the treatment of choice. Multiple treatments are required and complete blanching after laser irradiation is rarely achieved. We review current therapeutic modalities for PWSs and recent developments for enhanced clearance. ST...

[Laser treatment of port wine stain].

Laser treatment of vascular skin lesions is rapidly improving. Port wine stain (PWS) is one of the first lesions successfully treated with laser. The pulsed dye laser (PDL) has been developed on the concept of selective photothermolysis and has revolutionized PWS treatment. Even though the response is variable, substantial blanching can be obtained after several sessions. Greater selectivity an...

Description and analysis of treatments for port-wine stain birthmarks.

Port-wine stain (PWS) birthmarks are congenital, low-flow vascular malformations of the skin. Lasers are the modality of choice for the treatment of PWS birthmarks, and for most patients the pulsed-dye laser in conjunction with epidermal cooling offers the greatest efficacy and safety. Other light devices, including the 532-nm frequency-doubled Nd:YAG laser, intense pulsed light, 1064-nm Nd:YAG...

Use of erythema index imaging for systematic analysis of port wine stain skin response to laser therapy.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Quantitative methods to assess port wine stain (PWS) skin response to laser therapy are needed to improve therapeutic outcome. In this study, PWS skin erythema was analyzed using erythema index difference (DeltaEI: erythema index difference between PWS and normal skin) images before and after treatment to investigate systematically subject-dependent response to laser t...

Acquired Port-Wine stain: Report of two cases

Acquired port-wine stain is a rare vascular lesion that mimics a congenital port-wine stain clinically and histologically, but is acquired after birth. A survey on more than 60 reported cases in the literature reveals that most of these cases are idiopathic, but some of the cases developed after physical or mechanical trauma, hormonal changes, chronic sun exposure, and medications (OCP, i...
